Why Astrology Still Matters: A Journey from the Stars to the Self
My journey with astrology started many years ago, out of pure curiosity. I was fascinated by how ancient it is—people have looked to the stars for meaning for thousands of years. What I discovered along the way is that there isn’t just one astrology. There’s classical Western astrology, Indian (Vedic) astrology, psychological astrology, evolutionary astrology... and each one opens up new doors to explore. It's truly a lifelong study.
What I love most is that astrology is not just about “what will happen” but why we are the way we are. It’s helped me understand myself better—my emotions, my strengths, my blind spots—and it’s also given me a deeper sense of empathy toward others. It’s a powerful tool for personal growth.
In the beginning, astrology and astronomy were deeply connected. Ancient astrologers were also mathematicians and philosophers. They studied the sky to understand life on Earth. Astrology was used in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, India, and beyond—it was part of medicine, politics, and spirituality.
Over time, astrology changed. When science became more focused on facts and numbers, astrology became more symbolic and spiritual. Then, in the 20th century, something beautiful happened: astrology met psychology.
Carl Jung, the famous Swiss psychologist, said, “Astrology represents the sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity.” He believed the planets and signs are symbols of inner forces, or what he called "archetypes." Jung didn’t see astrology as superstition—he saw it as a language of the soul.
Today, psychological astrology continues in that spirit. It’s not about predicting the future—it’s about understanding your inner world. Your birth chart becomes a mirror, showing you your patterns, your challenges, and your potential.
There’s always more to learn, and that’s what keeps it exciting. Astrology isn’t a quick answer—it’s a journey. A journey through the cosmos, yes—but also deep inside yourself.
